Adding stories to your project

You can add your first story to a project by clicking the green "+" box in the Project editor, bringing up the option to add a new “Blank story”, or an “Existing story” from your workspace (see below). Don’t worry too much about the “Navigation group” option, we’ll explain this a bit later.

If you select “Blank story” it will create a brand new story in your project.

If you select “Existing story”, you can select any existing story (or stories) in your workspace that is not already published or part of a Project.

Please note: A story can only live in one Project at a time. However you can move a story from one project to another, or remove a story from a project completely.

Your first story will become the default homepage of your Project, however this can be changed to any other page in your project at a later date.

Once your first story is added, you can add as many stories as you like, and have as many levels of child pages to suit your needs.

You can add additional pages by clicking the round green "+" icons that appear when you hover over a story in the project. Don’t worry if you add a story in a different place than what you intended - keep reading to learn how to move your stories around.

Organising the stories in a project

Once a story has been added to a project there’s a few things you can do.

  • You can move stories around in your project simply by dragging and dropping the story into the desired location in the hierarchy

  • When you hover over a story, you’ll see three dots appear in the top right. Clicking this gives you a menu for you to do things like edit, preview, set the story as the new homepage for the project, or remove the story from the project (among others):

  • The bottom right of the story card will show whether you personally can edit that story, or if not it will show a locked icon. It will also show whether there are any direct child stories under that story

  • Clicking on the story will show any child stories in the next column of the project editor

  • There are also several ‘states’ a story can be in. These states include:

    • Draft” - The story has not been published yet (as shown on the stories above)

    • Published” - Shown once a story has been successfully published as part of the project

    • Unpublished changes” - If changes have been made to a story after it has been published
