Shorthand offers multiple publishing options, dependent on your subscription plan. They include Shorthand Hosting, Shorthand Embed, Amazon S3/Azure Blob Storage/SFTP, WordPress and Drupal Plugins, ZIP downloads, and Programmatic Publishing.

All Shorthand plans offer "Shorthand Hosting", which publishes your Story or Project directly to Shorthand's own servers.

We offer three options to customize the associated URL with Shorthand hosting:

1. shorthandstories.com hosting
(e.g., https://mybrand.shorthandstories.com)
This is the simplest way to publish your Shorthand stories and requires no technical input or domain purchasing.

2. Custom subdomain hosting
(e.g., https://mystories.mybrand.com)
Dedicate a subdomain of a domain you already own to your Shorthand stories.

​3. Custom domain hosting
(e.g., https://mydomain.com) Dedicate a base domain you already own to your Shorthand content.

​​Already have hosting sorted on Amazon’s S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud, or your own servers? Supply your hosting details and you and your publishing-enabled colleagues can then send stories live simply by naming a directory for the story (using the story title as the directory name works well) and clicking publish. Here's an example of the S3 method from GOAL.

Mark your stories in Shorthand as ready to publish and our plugin will make them available within your Wordpress or Drupal CMS as custom posts ready to publish.

Download your stories in their entirety — code, images and video — in a completely self-contained .zip file to store or host as you wish. Forces Network use the download .zip option here.

Write code to integrate with Shorthand publishing via our REST API. This simple API provides a list of stories that are ready to publish, and programmatically pulls .zip files that contain all content relevant to a story.
