Duplicate a section of your story in order to easily apply the same styles elsewhere in the story, or to experiment with different styling of the same content before deciding on your final version.
In the story Editor, buttons next to each section thumbnail image provide options to Duplicate the section (adding a copy to the same story), and to Save as a section template (making a copy available for use in any of your stories).
Duplicate / copy to current story
To duplicate a section in your current story, click the Duplicate icon next to the section thumbnail. A copy/duplicate of the section will appear directly below the section it was duplicated from, and can then be independently edited and moved to any position in the story.
Duplicating a section within a story is useful for both consistency and experimentation, and can dramatically speed up your story creation.
Consistency
If you've carefully crafted a section and would like to use the same or similar styles and effects in multiple sections within the story, simply duplicate the section, make necessary changes to the duplicate, and position it anywhere you wish. This is a fast way to create consistency with multiple sections of the same type, such as chapter headings or image galleries, especially where mutliple custom styles and effects have been applied (text size, colour, and position, image shaping, section animation options, etc).
Experimentation
Can't decide if the section would look better with text on the left or right, with a dark or light background, square or round images? Rather than continually restyling the same section to test out variations, make one or more duplicates of the section, then test different styles on the duplicates. You'll be able to see the multiple options together before deleting the copies you've decided against.
Note:
Duplicated sections and section templates are unique per user. Each user can copy sections from any story in any of their teams within their workspace. A copy is a one-time snapshot. Any changes made to the original section will not affect copies of that section. When inserted into a story, the copy will contain only the items included in the section when it was first copied, though can then be edited just as any other unique section.
The application does not currently support copying of custom colours applied from the STORY COLOURS palette in the story the section copy was created from. If you want custom story colours to be applied when inserting a copied section into a new story, you must re-add and apply the colours in the new story.
