Video guidelines

Shorthand supports videos in many formats. When you upload a video to your story, we will convert your video files to formats that are compatible with HTML5 web browsers, and attempt to produce a version of your video optimally sized for best viewing on the web. This may mean your video is re-sized to no larger than 1080px high in landscape, or converted to MP4 and WEBM formats.

Maximum upload size is 100MB, and maximum video duration is 10 minutes, but videos should be kept as small as possible.

Supported video formats

When uploading videos to any section that accepts video media (such as the Media section, or as inline media), the file type should be one of the following containers, and should contain video encoded by one of the codecs listed:
